At first I was very disappointed by the fact that we weren't going to be signing a top english defender. But this guy seems like a great signing under the circumstances. We needed someone cheap, someone with good experience and someone who can be a strong backup. I think we've gotten quite a bargain. Looking forward to hopefully seeing him play monday against villa.

It's a real downer that we'll be without him for the first month or so. I can't wait to see aquaman in action. I hope he scores a corker in front of the kop in his debut, would put down a lot of skeptics.

I think we can deal with the defensive line up we have right now. We shouldn't spend money just because we are gonna be short a CB one game. Worst case scenario for sunday is going to be carragher and possibly Martin Kelly who has shown plenty of potential and should do fine. What Rafa really needs to do is buy an attacking player. I would really like a striker with experience who won't mind coming off the bench. Too be honest though.. I can't really think of any available players that fit that bill.

After Alonso's departure we really could not afford to lose Masch. I'm really glad he's staying, great holding midfielder.
