Reports in Italy are suggesting that AC Milan are on the verge of signing Palermo's highly rated midfielder Fabio Simplicio in January.
The Brazilian has been in fine form at the Stadio Renzo Barbera this season, but appears set to swap the Rosanero for the Rossoneri when the transfer window opens next month.
The 30-year-old could be a replacement for the unsettled Gennaro Gattuso, who may be on his way out of the San Siro after falling out with manager Leonardo.
Simplicio has made over 100 appearances for Palermo since joining in 2006, and would team up with compatriots Thiago Silva, Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato in the fashion capital.
According to Tuttosport, Milan director Ariedo Braida has been scouting Simplicio this season, and is sure that the combative ace has the necessary qualities to improve the team as they seek to catch rivals Inter at the top of Serie A.
Simplicio is out of contract at the end of the season, but Milan will want to tie up a deal this winter as the likes of AS Roma and Lazio are also apparently keen on his services.
