No other fixture in Premier League history has produced more hat-tricks than Liverpool v Arsenal, and in continuing our build-up to Sunday's clash at Anfield, ExtraFootie looks back at five classic trebles.
Just to note that Liverpool were last season's top scorers in the top-flight with 77 goals, whilst the Gunners were joint second alongside Chelsea and champions Manchester United on 68.
The pair shared a memorable 4-4 draw at Anfield at the back end of last season when a certain Andrey Arshavin introduced himself to the English public in impressive fashion - slamming home four goals for the Gunners. One word: Amazing!
Arshavin's quadruple was not the first time a player had stolen the show at Anfield. Step forward, Peter Crouch, who, in 2007 helped himself to a treble as the Reds trounced a poor Arsenal side 4-1.
Catch Crouchie's hat-trick below from 1.10 onwards.
As impressive as his was, Crouch's exploits could not quite match Kop legend Robbie Fowler's unforgettable 4 mins 33 seconds hat-trick in the 1994/1995 season. 'God' was God-like that afternoon!
Going into Good Friday in the 2003/2004 campaign, the Gunners had just been dumped out of the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League in the same week and faced a Liverpool side determined to derail their title challenge.
With the scores level at 2-2, Arsenal hitman Thierry Henry decided to take matters into his own hands when he skipped past a number of Liverpool players before slotting coolly past Jerzy Dudek. It was mesmeric, it was magnificent and it was memorable as the Gunners then blasted their way to their 13th league crown.
Never forgetting a certain Julio 'the Beast' Baptista, who lived up to his nickname when he chewed and then spat the Reds back out with a devastating four goals in their League Cup quarter-finals clash in 2007. Extraordinary it really was!
