Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has revealed manager Carlo Ancelotti was furious with the Blues' second-half performance in their UEFA Champions League draw with Apoel Nicosia.
Mikel admits the Italian tactian was 'really, really mad' after his poor backpass led to substitute Nenad Mirosavljevic snatching a late
leveller ast Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening as Chelsea ended their Group D campaign unbeaten.
The Blues had led the Cypriot minnows thanks to goals from Michael Essien and Didier Drogba after Marcin Zewlakow had given the visitors a surprise lead after just eight minutes.
After losing 2-1 at Manchester City and crashing out of the Carling Cup on penalties to Blackburn Rovers in the past week, Mikel has conceded Ancelotti was irate at not returning to winning ways against Apoel.
"The manager was really, really mad with the way we played in the second half," explained the Nigeria international.
"We had lost the last two games and, playing at home as well, we should have won the game.
"We played well in the first half but in the second half we didn't move the ball quickly and you could smell the danger coming."
The 22-year-old also sent out an ominous warning to the Blues next two oppoents; Everton and Portsmouth, insisting the team now 'owe' Ancelotti a performance. Gulp.
"It is good that we are now playing two games at home. We owe the manager because he is really mad and we have to make sure we win these next two games."
