Liverpool will hope to give the Anfield faithful one last hoorah in the UEFA Champions League this season when they host Fiorentina, whilst Lyon will be gunning for top-spot as they entertain Debrecen.
With the group already decided, all that is left is for the top two to settle first and second place, although both Fiorentina and Lyon will be hoping their vanquished opponents can do them a favour.
La Viola sealed their place in the last 16 on Matchday 5 when they recorded a nervy 1-0 win over Lyon at the Stadio Artemio Franchi which rendered Liverpool's narrow win over Hungarian champions Debrecen meaningless.
Now Cesare Prandelli's men, who currently top Group E on 12 points, two ahead of OL, will look to complete the job, although to do that they may have to beat the Reds at Anfield.
Lyon host the group's whipping boys Debrecen at the Stade Gerland, and with victory all-but certain, Fiorentina need to ensure that they pick up at least a point from Anfield to be amongst the group winners for the last 16.
However, a wounded Liverpool will not be handing out any Christmas presents and will want to bow out with a bang before plying their trade in the Europa League.
The Reds will also have revenge firmly on their minds after Stevan Jovetic's brace sent them crashing to defeat in Florence on Matchday 2.
If ExtraFootie was a betting man, £10 would be going firmly on a Liverpool win on Wednesday evening with a -1 deficit as they look to prove a point.
