Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is facing an injury crisis as his side travel to the Karaiskakis Stadium for their Group H UEFA Champions League clash with Olympiakos on Wednesday evening.
The Gunners will be without a vast array of first-team stars, including midfielder Thomas Rosicky who suffered a groin injury during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday.
In addition to the Czech star, defensive duo William Gallas and Armand Troare (both hamstring) are set to miss out as is Emmanuel Eboue (leg) who started at the weekend.
Ahead of the match Wenger bemoaned what he sees as one of the worst injury crisis' he has ever had to face during his 13-year tenure in charge of the North London giants.
"At the moment it is our worst season for injuries," the Frenchman told the club's official website.
"What happens is that we have injuries in the same area. Last year it was defensively, this year it is up front.
"It is true [that we pick up more injuries than the other big teams], you cannot deny that. We cannot say there is no reason for that but we have not found it."
The news will force Wenger to field a young team at the intimidating Karaiskakis Stadium, however, with top spot already assured 'The Professor' will be keeping one eye on Sunday's mouth-watering tie with Liverpool at Anfield.
"It's very difficult to find a common denominator to all our injuries.
"For example Tomas and Eduardo get injuries because they have been out for a long time.
"Then you have (Robin) Van Persie who has been injured with the national team. Theo is in and out because when he came back he was tackled against Birmingham and since then he hasn't played.
"I want to see what happens now [with injuries]. We are in the beginning of December and I will see if we are in the same situation in January," he ended.
