Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo has demonstrated yet more humility by admitting that he is not ‘perfect’!
Real Madrid’s £80million world record signing missed a crucial spot-kick in Saturday’s game at home to Almeria which Los Blancos eventually went on to win 4-2.
Never one to be short on self confidence, ‘CR9’ had his head in his hands as Almeria’s Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves brilliantly palmed away his 80th minute penalty with the scores still tied at two-a-piece, before substitute Karim Benzema slammed home the rebound.
The 24 year-old also missed an early one-on-one in a match during which Los Merengues struggled in spells.
For the record the current FIFA World Player of The Year would go on to grab Real’s fourth to seal the victory, but speaking after the match, ‘Ronnie’ admitted he is not quite perfect.
"I am a human being, and I can also make mistakes,” he told Marca. “I am a perfectionist, but the good thing is that Karim scored."
