Bayern Munich have poured cold water on reports linking them with a move for out of favour Liverpool winger Ryan Babel.
Babel, 22, is far from happy with life at Anfield after failing to establish himself as a first-team regular following his £11.5million switch from Ajax in 2007 and has made his feelings known to boss Rafa Benitez.
Having been warned by Holland coach Bert van Marwijk that he must be playing consistently to be considered for the Oranje's
World Cup 2010 squad, Babel has recently reiterated his desire to quit
the club for pastures new.
Bayern were one of a host of clubs said to be keen on the flying Dutchman, but their
director of sport Christian Nerlinger has squashed all talk of a potential January swoop.
"I don't know anything about it and so you can take it for granted that there is no truth in it," he told Germany’s Telekom's Liga Total television channel.
With the likes of Mario Gomez, Miroslav Klose, Ivica Olic and young starlet Thomas Muller, the Bavarians are already inundated with attacking options at the Allianz Arena and so a move for Babel seems unlikely.
