Liverpool outcast Andriy Voronin could be set for a move back to Germany in the January transfer window, with Eintracht Frankfurt the latest Bundesliga club to be linked with the striker.
The Ukrainian forward has been a fringe player at Anfield ever since joining on a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2007, scoring just six goals in 39 appearances.
Voronin was sent on a season-long loan to Hertha Berlin last year, where he impressed, scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances for the Bundesliag outfit.
It was expected the 30-year-old would make his move to the Olympic Stadium permanent during the summer, but due to Rafa Benitez not being given the funds to bring in a new striker at Anfield, he decided to keep hold of Voronin.
However, the Triple H lookalike has struggled to break into the Reds first team this campaign, and has not featured at all since a below par performance in Liverpool's UEFA Champions League draw in Lyon.
Now it seems almost certain the Ukraine international will be moved on in the New Year to free up funds to bring in a replacement, and Germany seems a likely destination.
While he will surely be linked with a move back to the German capital, another potential destination could be Eintracht Frankfurt, according to The Daily Post.
Frankfurt striker Ioannis Amanatidis is out with a lengthy injury, and manager Michael Skibbe reportedly sees Voronin as an ideal stand-in.
Any club wanting the 'pony-tailed assassin' would be likely to have to fork out in the region of £3million, though a loan-to-buy deal may not be completely out of the question.
