Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen are interested in taking former Liverpool left back John Arne Riise to Germany next summer, with his current employers As Roma said to be willing to listen to offers.
Bremen boss Thomas Schaaf is understood to be searching for a new left sided player and sees the Norweigan as an ideal option, though he will have to wait until the end of the season to bring the 29-year-old to the Weserstadion.
Riise joined the Giallorossi from Liverpool in the summer of 2008 for £6million, but has failed to assert himself as the No.1 left0back at the Stadio Olimpico.
According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, a deal between Roma and the Bundesliga side could be done in the summer, with Claudio Ranieri once again looking to Anfield for a replacement in the form of Italy international Andrea Dossena.
The former Udinese full-back was Riise's replacement on Merseyside, but flattered to deceive in his debut season last year and has hardly figured in Rafa Benitez's plans this term.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a January switch to Napoli, but Roma could be set to spark a bidding war, if they can offload Riise.
