Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is set to return to action after two months out with an ankle injury, with a 30 minute cameo against FC Zurich at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.

According to Spanish publication AS, the £80million man will play the final half an hour of Los Blancos' UEFA Champions League tie with the Swiss champions, and then could play 45 minutes in the top of the table 'El Clasico' clash with rivals Barcelona at the weekend.

Ronaldo suffered the injury back in September during his side's 3-0 home win iver Marseille, when he was clattered by a fierce Souleymane Diawara tackle.

The injury was then aggravated whilst on international duty with Portugal, and with 'CR9''s fitness being of the utmost importance to Rea's chances of success this season, coach Manuel Pellegrini plans on introducing him slowly back to action.

The Spanish giants have won every game that Ronaldo has played in since his summer move from Manchester United, and averaged over three goals a game before his injury.

However, without him they have won just five matches and average less than two goals a game, though the players and coaches continue to insist they are not overly reliant on him. Yeah, right!

The 24-year-old's return will surely be of interest to one Paris Hilton, who believed she was the cause of his injury after hiring 'Pepe the witch' to put a hex on her former beau.

Pepe had promised that through voodoo methods he would end Ronaldo's career, but sure enough after a few painkillers and a couple of months rest he seems fine, though if anything does go wrong again there is always horse placenta!
