Sporting Lisbon are reportedly looking to bring former winger Ricardo Quaresma back to the Estádio José Alvalade on a loan deal from Inter Milan in January.
Quaresma began his career in the Portuguese capital alongside current Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, and at the time it was the former who was considered the more talented of the two.
However, while Ronaldo developed into the best player in the world at Manchester United, Quaresma flopped after a big money move to Barcelona.
The 26-year-old returned to Portugal and became an integral part of the post Jose Mourinho FC Porto side, helping him to break into the national side.
After another big money move, this time to Mourinho's Inter Milan, Quaresma again found life outside his homeland tough going, and last season was loaned to Chelsea.
The tricky winger rarely appeared at Stamford Bridge after Luis Felipe Scolari was sacked in February, but upon returning to the San Siro insisted he would earn his place in the Nerazzuri side.
However, Quaresma has made just three substitute appearances this season, and looks certain to move either on loan or permanently once the January transfer window opens.
Premier League outfit Everton have been heavily linked with a move, with manager David Moyes eager to boost his midfield options at Goodison Park.
In Portugal though the media have suggested that the player is set to move back to where it all began, with national daily A Bola reporting that Sporting are ready to make a move for their former charge, and are keen to open negotiations with the Serie A champions
