Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has intimated that he would like a return to the Premier League during the next stage of his career.
'The special one' is currently ruling the roost in Italy with Inter Milan. He has guided them to the Serie A title and the Italian Super Cup, and they have started this season in impressive fashion. They are currently five points clear of Juventus at the top of the table.
His departure from Chelsea in 2007 was something of a surprise, especially given the former Porto boss' assertions of how happy he was in England.
Now it looks as if he is set to return to these shores. In a recent interview he made his intentions clear.
“England is the country,” he said.
“And my football is English football. I want to build something."
With Carlo Ancelotti excelling at Chelsea, and Arsene Wenger and Alex Ferguson both safe in their positions at Arsenal and Manchester United, the only likely destination for the outspoken boss is Anfield.
As the pressure continues to mount on Rafael Benitez, his days could well be numbered on Merseyside, and now there seems to be the perfect successor waiting in the wings.
The Reds again failed to impress in their 2-2 draw with Birmingham on Monday night and the vultures are beginning to circle over the Spaniards head. Step forward Jose.
