Atletico Madrid midfielder Maxi Rodriguez has alerted several clubs around Europe after his agent revealed the Argentine is stalling over signing a new contract at the Vicente Calderon stadium.
The 28-year-old has fallen out of favour in the Spanish capital this season, and will reportedly seek a move away if upcoming contract negotiations fail to bear fruit.
There is apparent interest from Italy in the players services, with Fiorentina known admirers of Rodriguez, though English clubs Everton and Tottenham have also previously coveted the winger.
Maxi's current contract expires at the end of the season, and if a new one cannot be agreed then he will be free to speak to other clubs in January and could move on a bosman next summer. "We don't have a meeting scheduled with Atletico to talk about a renewal," Jose Segui, Rodriguez's agent, is quoted as saying by Violanews.com.
"For the moment, we haven't been contacted by other teams. The player's aim is to stay until the end of the season - I don't think that he will move in January.
"We will talk from now until December with the directors [about a new contract], and then we'll see."
