Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has has launched a scathing attack on France coach Raymond Domenech by arrogantly asserting that he is still the best midfielder the Les Bleus have!
The 33-year-old Inter Milan star was speaking out after being omitted from the 24-man France squad for the upcoming two-legged World Cup play-off with Republic of Ireland.
Vieira insists the likes of Arsenal ace Abou Diaby and Bordeaux captain Alou Diarra are nowhere near his 'level' and is clearly p****d off at his failure to make Domenech's squad for the clash against Giovanni Trapattoni's men.
"There is no one on my level in France at the moment," he told French daily L'Equipe. "I could come off as being arrogant, but I am sure of it."
Vieira has been blighted by injury problems and loss of form at the San Siro since joining the Nerazzurri from Juventus in 2006, but has put in some encouraging performances for Jose Mourinho's men so far this season. "I knew that mine was a delicate situation, because I am not a regular starter at Inter," he continued. "But I am back to my standards and this is important. My objective is to play more regularly and give my all in order to be called up for next summer’s finals."
