Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has won some startling praise from none other than AC Milan legendary coach Arrigo Sacchi, who lauded the Special One as 'a phenomenon'.
Mourinho saw his Inter side grab a dramatic and totally unforeseen 2-1 win away to Dynamo Kiev in their crunch Group F UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday evening.
The win moved the Nerazzurri from the bottom to the top of the group as holders Barcelona and Russian champions Rubin Kazan played out a 0-0 draw.
Reflecting on the match, Sacchi recalled how although all appeared to be lost, Mourinho deserves all the plaudits for how he rallied his troops when all seemed lost and deployed a rather strange tactic!
"I believe Mourinho made all the difference, as he did something we had never seen in Italy so far," he was quoted as saying by Mediaset.
"He played the last minutes of the game with a single central defender. He created a bit of confusion, but originated something we had never seen in this country," he added.
In what is sure to further boost the former Chelsea bosses already inflated ego, Sacchi then went on to laud the 46-year-old as a phenomenon. Music to his eyes we suspect!
"I must ask: is he a phenomenon or can he do whatever he wants with the team he has at his disposal? I reckon he is a phenomenon," he revealed.
The Serie A champions return to domestic action on Sunday night when they host AS Roma at the San Siro in a clash between two former Chelsea chiefs in Mourinho and Giallorossi boss Claudio Ranieri
