Chelsea and Liverpool target Stefan Kjaer has insisted he remains fully committed to Serie A side Palermo as speculation mounts of the player’s future at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.
The central defender is being tracked by a host of Europe’s top clubs and has been tipped for a big money move in the January transfer window or after the World Cup next summer.
However the 20-year-old, who was instrumental in Denmark’s successful South Africa 2010 qualifying campaign, insists he is just concentrating on becoming a better player.
"I am not thinking about leaving Palermo for the time being," he told Il Palermo magazine.
"I must keep moving forward and I must get better and better."
The defender, who signed from FC Midtjylland last summer, has been ever-present for the Rosanero and is likely to command a fee of around £12million should Chelsea, or anyone else for that matter, take the plunge.
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini is far from happy with the continuous speculation surrounding the future of the in-demand defender and declared in true Sicilian fashion for the media to - 'stop breaking my balls!'
"Kjaer should be left in peace. They break my balls everyday with the same questions," declared the colourful Zamparini.
"I am unhappy with the Palermo press who keep on hounding my players every single week.
"The Palermo journalists keep on breaking my players' balls with questions on the transfer market. Whoever does this, I consider them to be traitors of my team," he concluded in true Godfather style.
It looks as if the player's potential suitors will have to make Zamparini 'an offer he can’t refuse' if they are to capture the signature of the highly-rated Denmark international.
