Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi has dismissed specualtion linking him with a January switch to Juventus or Chelsea by reiterating his desire to stay at the Olimpico Stadium for the rest of his career.
The 26-year-old has forged a reputation as one of the finest midfield enforcers in Europe since making his Serie A debut with the Giallorossi in 2003, and played a key role in Italy's World Cup triumph in Germany in 2006.
Roma, now coached by former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri, have been struggling this season and are currently languishing in 14th place, while rumours of spiralling debt has led to suggestions they may cash in on "Capitan Futuro"
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is a known admirer of the combative ace and has been linked with a move in the New Year should the Court of Arbitration suspend the Blues' FIFA-imposed transfer ban.
Juve are also believed to be monitoring De Rossi's situation, although he insists he will never leave the Eternal city and Roma for love nor money.
"I have always said I want to stay at Roma. It's a discourse which
relates to my life and the day I became a Romanista, not based on
trophies, or who the club buys," De Rossi told the press in Rome.
The midfielder also believes the team can pull together and salvage their season: "I, like the team, am living in an unhappy moment. I have never been the only player who can make Roma win, but now we can only improve."
