The Premier League reminded us exactly why we all love it this weekend with a flush of breathtaking games, stunning goals, ridiculous red cards and, if you're Birmingham's James McFadden, a shocking penalty miss.
McFadden's misdirected effort was comfortably saved by Shay Given and in the end proved enough to earn Manchester City a share of the spoils at St Andrews.
The Scotland international has vowed to continue to take his side's spot-kicks, however, saying: "It was a poor penalty. I don't know why but I changed my mind where I was going to put it. But I will be ready to take the next one."
But what is the key of taking the perfect penalty? Well we at ExtraFootiedecided to take a look at some of the more memorable efforts from 12 yards.
Johan Cruyff: The Dutch maestro combined with Denmark winger Jesper Olsen to score this legendary penalty for Ajax against Helmond Sport in the Eredivise in 1982.
The sheer simplicity of it might take the breath away but its harder than it looks. Just ask Thierry Henry and Robert Pires who famously made a hilarious hash of their attempt to copy it for Arsenal!
Francesco Totti: The Roma scamp is renowned for his cheeky side and this training-ground effort is about the best way possible to utterly humiliate a goalkeeper!
This has to be seen to be believed! I somewhat doubt you'd be brave enough to whip this one out in the UEFA Champions League though Francesco!
Mohamed Jedidi: People say the trick to a successful penalty is keeping your composure and surely no-one will know this better than Tunisian striker Mohamed Jedidi.
The youngster had the chance to put his country 2-1 up against Serbia and Montenegro in the 2004 Olympics but surely no-one could have predicted it would take him no less than SIX bites at the cherry before he could finally celebrate! See for yourself!
