Barcelona sporting director, Txiki Beguiristain has revealed that the Catalan giants are ready and waiting to welcome Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas to the Nou Camp.
Boss Pep Guardiola and a number of top officials at the Spanish club have made no secret of their desire to sign Arsenal’s most prized asset, and with reports in El Mundo Deportivo claiming on Wednesday that the player is nearing a move to the Nou Camp next summer, he could be about to wave goodbye to the Arsenal faithful.
Fabregas, 22, has been a life-long target for last season's Champions League winners and Barca superstar Xavi event was as far as saying the Spanish international “has Barcelona DNA”.
The Barca-born maestro first moved to North London in 2003 from his hometown club, where he spent three years as a youth trainee. But having picked up just one trophy in his six years as a Gunner, he has reportedly grown increasingly frustrated at the lack of silverware under Arsene Wenger's guidance.
A chance to play alongside the likes of Andrea Iniesta, Lionel Messi and former team-mate Thierry Henry is sure to be a huge temptation to the man who has 45 international caps to his name currently.
Beguiristain is more than confident that they will get Fabregas sooner rather than later, and insists it is simply a matter of time before the inevitable becomes reality.
"Cesc is a player who has the Barca profile,” he told The Guardian.
"He was born suckling upon the teat of the football (we play) here. One day he will end up playing at the Camp Nou. I am sure of it."
Meanwhile, another Premier League star is heavily rumoured to be swapping England for Spain, with Manchester City's Brazilian ace Robinho rumoured to be joining La Blaugrana
in the January transfer window too. A possible player plus cash deal involving Ivorian Yaya Toure has been mooted.
