Yossi Benayoun's agent has insisted the Liverpool winger will not be leaving Anfield anytime soon, despite reports linking the Israeli with Manchester City.
The Israeli had been tipped for a move to Eastlands after becoming increasingly frustrated at his failure to cement a regular spot in Rafa Benitez' Liverpool side, despite some dazzling displays including a recent Premier League hat-trick.
Matters reportedly came to a head recently when he was inexplicably dropped for the Merseysiders showdown with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Man City boss Mark Hughes is reportedly desperate to add the versatile attacker to his ranks, but it appears he might have to accept that the player will remain where he is, for the time being at least.
But Ronen Kastav, the players' agent, has dismissed these rumours and claims Benayoun is staying in Merseyside.
"Naturally a player playing well at Liverpool will always have other teams interested in him," Kastav explained.
"It is a great compliment that there is interest from high level teams across Europe, but Yossi is very happy at Liverpool and only in the summer agreed a new four-year contract."
As Benayoun battles with the likes of Dutch misfit Ryan Babel for a place in the Reds' midfield, only time will tell if his decision to remain at Anfield is the right one.
