Chelsea captain John Terry has spoken of his desire to win major trophies with the Blues this season, and specifically singled out the UEFA Champions League as a major priority.
Chelsea came within a penalty kick of lifting the famous big-eared trophy in 2008 when they lost on penalties to rivals Manchester United, when the defender famously slipped and saw his penalty strike the post leaving the Red Devils to take all the spoils in Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.
That night of bitter disappointment has left Terry determined to ensure that he does not end his playing career having never lifted Europe's most sought after trophy.
"Everybody knows the determination within myself to go on and win the Champions League with Chelsea, there is no bigger challenge than that," he told the Daily Express.
"I want to make sure that in my career I win the Champions League it would 100 per cent always annoy me if I retired without a Champions League winners' medal with Chelsea."
The 28-year-old, who admitted recently he has kept the ball from the final for 'inspiration', also revealed that the pain of that penalty miss still haunts him to this day.
"What happened in the Champions League final I have to deal with every day, whether it be 5, 10, 15 or 20 times a day, I deal with it in my way and try to use it as a positive," he added.
