Insiders are claiming the new England away kit will be "almost identical" to that worn by the World Cup winning side of 1966, according to a leading football kit website.
FootballlShirtCulture.com is reporting that "sources close to the project" say the shirts will be all red, with no distinguishable features or trimmings other than the famous Three Lions crest.
Much like England's uncomplicated home strip, the new away kit will be branded under Umbro's Tailored range, focusing on simplicity and style and transcending a tendency of recent kits being"unnecessarily cluttered", according to the Manchester based manufacturer.
The strip will be launched in March next year ahead of the World Cup finals in South Africa, where England will be hoping to emulate the class of '66 by winning the competition.
The only difference between the new jersey and that worn in the 1966 finals will be the collar, understood to have "a slight v-neck" rather than a round, close-fitting crew neck.
