Real Madrid are believed to be on the verge of concluding a sensational move for AC Milan's Brazilian superstar Kaka according to Spanish newspaper AS.
Florentino Perez, Los Blancos presidential candidate, has apparently made the former World Player of the Year his No 1 transfer target this summer ahead of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Franck Ribery who have also been linked with the club.
Perez, views Kaka as the type of marquee signing required to light up the Bernabeu, helping to transcend a new era of dominance, it is hoped, in the process.
If the protracted £60m move does indeed go through, Kaka will become the highest earner in world football, signing a five-year contract worth a reported £9m after tax per annum (£175,000 a week). In addition to this, it is alleged that Perez has also reserved Zinedine Zidane's former No 5 shirt for Kaka should he decide to move to the Bernabéu.
Despite Kaka's father and agent denying reports linking him with a move away from San Siro this summer, as well as the player himself reiterating his desire to stay in Rossonero, it remains to be seen whether they can resist the alluring charm of Perez, who has a reputation of getting what he wants more often that not.
