Wolves have suffered a massive blow in their quest to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season with the news that striker Andy Keogh has been ruled out out of action for three months.
The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international suffered ankle ligament and tendon damage during training on Thursday and will now be sidelined for up to 12 weeks as he prepares to undergo surgery.
Boss Mick McCarthy told the club's official website: "It's a huge blow for us because he's a great kid and he was devastated to hear that news.
"It just happened in training when he was running through and got clipped.
"He'd actually scored and jumped over Wayne (Hennessey) and just rocked his ankle when he landed."
On a more positive note for the Black and Golds, fellow striker Chris Iwelumo, 31, has returned to training after six weeks out with a foot injury.
