Wolverhampton Wanderers have reported Bolton to the Football Association over their pursuit of highly-rated defender Mark Connolly.
Connolly, who has captained the Republic of Ireland at youth level, moved to the Reebok Stadium on transfer-deadline day for £1million after the player rejected a new contract under Mick McCarthy at Wolves.
Wolves have now reported the North West club for 'unapproved communication' between the 17-year-old starlet and former academy chief Chris Evans, who is now Gary Megson's assistant at Bolton.
"We have lodged an official letter of complaint, supported by considerable amounts of documentary evidence, with both the Premier League and the FA," chief executive Jez Moxey, told the club's official website.
"This complaint relates to Bolton Wanderers and their assistant manager Chris Evans, a former Wolves employee.
"We cannot sit on our hands and allow the events surrounding Mark Connolly's departure to pass unchallenged or unnoticed."
The latest poaching row has come after FIFA confirmed they are investigating 15 complaints against Premier League clubs involving the transfer of young players, after Chelsea were issued with a transfer embargo following their illegal pursuit of French teenager Gael Kakuta.
While there have been a number of accusations levelled by French clubs over 'tapping-up' young players, this is thought to be the first involving two Premier League clubs.
