Wolves look set to beat a host of clubs to the signature of Hamilton wonderkid James McCarthy after reportedly having a bid in excess of £2million accepted by the Scottish Premier League outfit.According to
skysports.com, the Premier League new-boys have had an improved offer accepted for the highly-rated midfielder after their initial £1million offer was rejected earlier this week.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the best young prospects in British football after a number of fine performances over the
past 12 months and has attracted attention from a host of clubs both
down south and on the continent.
Accies chairman Ronnie McDonald has resisted the temptation to cash in on his club's prized
asset on numerous occasions this summer having turned down bids from the Celtic,
Portsmouth and
Burnley but has now relented to
Wolves offer.
McCarthy is now thought to be on his way down to Molineux for talks and should
Wolves secure the Republic of Ireland Under 21 international's signature it will represent a massive coup for the club, with the player tipped for a big future in the game.
