Wolves boss Mick McCarthy appears to be closing in on the signature of Marseille defender Ronald Zubar, with the Frenchman expected to arrive at Molineux tomorrow to complete his £2.5million move.According to
skysports.com, the 23-year-old Guadeloupe-born stopper will fly in from the South of
France to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical before completing his move to the Premier League new-boys.
In an interview he gave last month, the powerful 6ft 1in centre-back revealed that a move to the English top-flight would be a
"dream come true" after being told by new
l'OM boss Didier Deschamps that he did not feature in his long-term plans at the Stade Velodrome.
Heralded as the new 'Lilian Thuram' after coming to prominence with
some impressive displays for the
France Under-21 side four years ago,
Zubar joined
Marseille in 2006 from
Caen and has been linked with
Arsenal and
Liverpool in the past.
Zubar will become McCarthy's third summer signing at Molineux following the arrivals of Marcus Hahnemann and
Nenad Milijas, while
Reading striker Kevin Doyle could also complete a move to the Midlands club over the next week or so after
Wolves lodged a £6.5million bid for the Republic of Ireland international.
