Ashley Williams could be the latest player to link up with former boss Roberto Martinez at Wigan, after Swansea manager Paulo Sousa confirmed the defender was attracting considerable interest.
Jordi Gomez and Jason Scotland both followed Martinez to the DW Stadium in the summer, when the Spaniard left the Liberty Stadium for the Premier League, and Williams could be the latest to make the switch.
The 25-year-old Wales defender, who captained his country to their 3-0 defeat of Scotland on the weekend, has been making quite a name for himself in the heart of the Championship promotion hopefuls' defence this season.
And Swans boss Sousa rates the command stopper highly, affirming that there is no reason why Williams cannot cut it at a higher level, although at the same time insisting that he is reluctant to let his prize asset go.
In his second season at the Championship side, Williams was named Wales' Footballer of the Year for 2009, and Sousa asserted that Wigan will face stiff competition for his signature, as he is being eyed by several top-flight clubs.
"I don't have any doubts about clubs watching him," Sousa said in the Wigan Evening Post. "He can play in the Premier League, of course, as I recognise other players in the Premier League are not better than him.
"He is a player that wants to progress and I think he has not finished here.
"He has a lot of chance to progress and get a lot of recognition because he is a fantastic boy and a fantastic player."
