West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola is reportedly ready to make an audacious move to bring Flamengo and former Inter Milan striker Adriano to Upton Park.
The Hammers were thrashed 4-0 at home by Manchester United on Saturday and continue to hover just one point above the drop zone after a poor start to their Premier League campaign, having finished ninth last season.
With star striker Carlton Cole currently sidelined until the New Year with a serious knee injury, Zola is in desperate need of some muscle upfront and believes that Brazilian powerhouse Adriano fits the bill.
The 27-year-old played in inimical part in helping Flamengo secure their first league title in 35 years having netted 19 goals for La Mengo last season
Now the former Fiorentina and Parma ace is contemplating a return to Europe and Zola is hoping to persuade the Brazil international to join the East Londoners as opposed to moving to Spain or back to Italy.
However, Adriano will think things through carefully before settling on a decision.
"I know that teams want me in Italy and England," he was quoted as saying by The Sun.
"I will take my time over a decision so I don't make any mistakes. It's not just about the money, there are other things," he added.
