Manchester United veteran Paul Scholes will quit Old Trafford at the end of the season after becoming disillusioned with his on-field performances.
The former England international, 35, has started just seven of United's 14 games this term, and he feels that age is at last catching up with him.
In his 15 years as a senior Red Devil the Salford-born midfielder has appeared over 600 times under Sir Alex Ferguson's guidance and has won just about all there is to win in the game.
But having retired from international prematurely in order to prolong his club career, the softly spoken ace is now ready to leave the club he joined as a youth player way back in 1991.
He is expected to feature in United's tricky clash against West Ham this afternoon at Upton Park, and is sure to be a part of United's plans until the season is out.
However, the self confessed Oldham Atheltic nut has always spoken of a desire to end his playing career at the club he loves, and this may well be an option for him if he decides to quit Old Trafford.
