Having secured the signature of 'The Magician', West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola is now said to be contemplating a move for Lyon's Ivory Coast forward Kader Keita.According to a report in respected French publication
L'Equipe, the little Italian maestro has enquired about the availability of the 27-year-old, who has failed to make an impact at the Stade Gerland following his £11million move from Ligue 1 rivals
Lille two season ago.
Keita, who is equally adept at playing on either wing, shot to prominence under the guidance of Claude Puel at the
Stadium
Lille-Metropole during a two year spell prior to his switch to
Lyon. A quick and powerful forward, Keita's various attributes would undoubtedly be well suited to the physical nature of the Premier League.
Having sealed a season-long loan deal for
Inter Milan midfielder Luis Jimenez, Zola is looking to add to his attacking options and clearly feels that Keita could be someone who could make a positive impact at Upton Park. But he may face competiton from Premier League rivals
Everton and Italian giants Roma, who are also said to be monitoring the player's situation.
