Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp is understood to be keeping tabs on Young Boys of Berne hitman Seydou Doumbia - who is tipped to partner Didier Drogba in attack for the Ivory Coast next summer.
Redknapp could be in the market for a new striker in the New Year if, as expected, Russian flop Roman Pavlyuchenko quits White Hart Lane for a move to Serie A outfit AS Roma.
And according to The Daily Mirror, Doumbia is on his radar after he sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old in action on Sunday night as he netted for Swiss side Young Boys of Berne in a 2-0 win over FC Basle.
The was Doumbia's 16th goal of the season for Young Boys, who currently top the Swiss Super League, and his impressive displays have attracted the attention of a host of clubs.
Russian champions Ruben Kazan have already reportedly had an £8million bid rejected for the ace, as have CSKA Moscow, as his club seek a fee closer in the region of £10million.
Indeed, it is believed Doumbia, who scored against Germany last month in his first full start for Ivory Coast, would prefer a switch to the Premier League rather than Russian football.
And Spurs could grant him his wish, providing they can sell Pavlyuchenko, as Redknapp looks to keep a strong squad in his quest to lead the North London club into the UEFA Champions League places this season.
