AC Milan striker and reported Tottenham Hostpur target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has dismissed talk of leaving the San Siro in January and has instead vowed to stay and fight for his first-team place.
The Holland international has had a torrid time since making his £13.5million summer switch to the San Siro from Real Madrid following a series of poor performances.
The forward has failed to score in seven Serie A appearances and has been dropped by coach Leonardo in recent weeks, as speculation mounts over his future.
It was reported that the Rossoneri are ready to cut their losses on the 26-year-old and sell him in January, however the former Ajax star has vowed to fight for his future at the Italian giants.
Huntelaar told the Daily Mail: "I want to remain at Milan. There is time to recover and I am certain that I will get my playing time."
Tottenham were in talks with Los Blancos before the striker secured his move to Milan and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp remains a huge fan.
The former Portsmouth manager is ready to offer Russian misfit Roman Pavlyuchenko in exchange for the coveted striker should AC make it clear that Huntelaar has no future at the club.
'The Hunter' matured into one of the finest strikers in Europe at Ajax after plundering an astonishing 76 goals in 92 appearances for the Dutch giants from 2005-2009.
While Huntelaar's talent is indisputable, his mentality is now coming into question after failing to make an impact at either AC or Real.
Redknapp will continue to monitor the situation should Huntelaar decide a move is in order ahead of next year's World Cup finals in South Africa.
