Carlo Cudicini is expected to make a full recovery from the injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident last Thursday, according to Tottenham Hotspur's assistant manager Kevin Bond.
When news the 36-year-old's accident broke, football fans feared the worst after police reports indicated that the Italian keeper had suffered 'potentially life-changing injuries' in the smash.
Cudicini was immediately rushed to hospital having fractured both his wrists and injured his pelvis after his BMW motorcycle collided with a Ford Fiesta on Forest Road in Walthamstow, but fears that his career is in jeopardy have now been eased.
Bond revealed that the Spurs shot-stopper would in fact make a full recovery, although he would not venture to put a time frame on his return to action, asserting that he was simply relieved that the former Chelsea man will play again.
"It's going to take some time, he will be on crutches for a period of time and no doubt he'll be in hospital for a good few days yet," he told Sky Sports News.
"Obviously it's such good news that all being well he will make a full recovery. At this moment in time no-one is going to put any type of time span on it - we are just glad to know that he's well.
"That's the most important thing and hopefully he'll be back putting his boots on and his gloves on in the not so distant future."
