Gareth Bale has finally broken his Premier League winless streak with Tottenham Hotspur, after going through; two years, three managers, 25 games and 1,533 minutes without a victory.
The 20-year-old could be forgiven for thinking the only way to break his curse would be to move clubs, but finally tasted victory after coming off the bench in the North London club's 5-0 mauling of Burnley on Saturday.
Bale was signed by Dutchman Martin Jol from Southampton in May 2007 for an initial £5million, after a series of impressive performances for the Saints started his meteoric rise to fame.
His last three points in a league game came after his old club's 4-1 win against Southend in May 2007, making the youngster's winless run the longest any player has had to wait for his first victory with a new club in the top-flight of English football.
A series of injuries has left Bale struggling to break into a competitive Spurs' side under new boss Harry Redknapp, who considered selling the talented Welshman in the summer, with Birmigham City and Fulham both interested.
However, after ending his winless streak at the weekend, Bale will be convinced the future is bright once again at White Hart Lane.
