Fratton Park manager Paul Hart has reiterated his desire to bring Croatian dangerman Nikola Kalinic to the Premier League.

A deal to bring the 21-year-old looked set to be in place with the hitman's current employers Hajduk Split last week, but reports suggested that it had collapsed over finances.

Pompey are eager to stagger payments for the fee which is thought to be in excess of £7million but Split want the sum up front. Should this issue be ironed out though, the player is eager to make the switch.

The goal ace has just two international caps to his name but is set to be a future star and despite his troublesome reputation, Hart is eager to land him.

In 59 league appearances for Hajduk Split the ace has smashed in an impressive 32 goals and the Fratton Park supremo knows he must add some firepower to his squad.

"We have not given up," he said.
