Peter Crouch's agent, Jonathon Barnett, has admitted that although the England striker is 'happy' at Fratton Park he would consider a move away from the South Coast club should they receive an offer for his services.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Pompey this summer following his public outburst last month when expressed his frustration at the situation with the club, with many
out-of-contract players having left and uncertainty surrounding the
proposed takeover by Sulaiman al-Fahim.
He was also unequivocal in his belief that the club have taken a "backward step" since
losing the likes of Harry Redknapp, Jermian Defoe and Lassana Diarra
over the past 6 months or so.
Fulham and Italian giants AC Milan have been credited with an interest in the 6ft 7in hitman recently, while reports this week suggest that new
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has lodged a club record £11million bid for the former
Liverpool frontman.
Barnett has admitted that Crouch would 'have to listen' if an offer were to be made for his services despite stating last month that Crouch had 'no intention' of leaving.
"I think Portsmouth have financial problems," Barnett told
The News. "I think every player is available."You would have to speak to Portsmouth to see if they are willing to sell Peter. He doesn't feel he's been let down, though. He has a great relationship with Portsmouth. He doesn't feel let down at all.
"We haven't heard anything from Milan or anyone at this stage.
"He's a Portsmouth player, he likes the club and thinks a lot of Peter Storrie and Paul Hart.
"He is happy, but if there are circumstances where he has to move, that is football I'm afraid.
"If Portsmouth were to receive an offer from somebody then we would have to listen to it."
