Liverpool as a 17-year-old in Janaury 2006 after Rafa Benitez splashed out £1.5million to sign him from
Hull City, spent last season on loan at Forest and scored two goals in 28 appearances for the club.
Meanwhile, Dele Adebola, 34, has signed a two-year contract with the club and arrives on a free transfer from
Bristol City, where he netted sixteen goals in 56 league appearances following his switch from
Coventry in January 2008.
Nottingham-born David McGoldrick has described his move to the City Ground as a 'dream' after Forest agreed an undisclosed seven-figure sum with
Southampton for the 21-year-old.
McGoldrick, who was raised in the Wollaton area of Nottingham and began his career with
Notts County before joining the Saints as a 16-years-old in 2004, has signed a three-year deal with Forest.
Other players being linked with a move to the big-spending club include
Doncaster Rovers defender Matthew Mills, and
Preston midfielder Paul McKenna.
