Doncaster Rovers have confirmed that they have rejected a second bid, believed to be in the region of £2million, from Nottingham Forest for their highly-rated defender Matthew Mills. The 22-year-old has been the subject of much transfer talk this summer with
Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish a confirmed admirer of the talented centre-half while
Newcastle are also believed to have been keeping tabs on his progress at the Keepmoat Stadium over the past six months or so.
However, it appeared that Forest boss Billy Davies was in pole position for the former
Manchester City man after submitting a £2million offer for Mills, who penned a three-year-contract with Rovers after completing a club record £300,000 move last summer.
However,
Doncaster chairman John Ryan has revealed that the offer from the City Ground outfit has been turned down, with Rovers believed to be holding out for close to £3million before parting with their powerful defender.
"They've made an offer, but we are not interested in selling," said Ryan.
