Nottingham Forest midfielder Chris Cohen has pledged his long-term future to the club by signing a new four-year contract that will see him remain at the City Ground until 2013.
Although the former Yeovil man still had two years left to run on his existent deal the form he has shown this season and the impressive progress he has made since arriving on Trentside in 2007 has been duly rewarded by the club who see him as an integral part of their future.
And after the 22-year-old was named as Forest's Player of the Year for the 2008/09 campaign, Reds boss Billy Davies could not hide his delight having retained the services of such a promising talent. "It's very important for the club to continue building and making progress," he told the club's official website. "The fact that Chris Cohen wants to stay at the club speaks volumes and we're absolutely delighted that our Player of the Year is going to be on board for the foreseeable future.
"All the players know where we're looking to go and it's a great indication when players want to sign new contracts."
