Gordon Strachan was unveiled as the new Middlesbrough manager on Monday, but he immediately made the mistake of letting slip his transfer targets, as fans glimpsed names on a piece of paper.
Strachan, 52, arrived at Boro's Riverside Stadium for his grand unveiling, and was seen carrying a piece of paper containing a teamsheet of prospective signings, including teenage sensations Jack Wilshere and Federico Macheda.
The two Premier League starlets may both become available for loan from Arsenal and Manchester United respectively, while the formation plan revealed that the fiery Scot could be planning wholesale changes to his squad.
The only four players whose places don't appear to be under threat are 'keeper Brad Jones, centre-backs David Wheater and on-loan Preston North End man Sean St Ledger and winger and Premier League target Adam Johnson.
In the full-back positions, Strachan is eyeing Spurs' £5million Kyle Naughton and Andy Griffin, Stoke's ex-captain, while in midfield he is keen on Aston Villa youngsters Marc Albrighton and Isaiah Osbourne as well as Wilshere and Portsmouth' s Hayden Mullins.
Up top Strachan is planning a reunion with his former Southampton striker Kevin Phillips, along with Macheda and Wolves hitman Chris Iwelumo.
Strachan isn't usually one to let journalists get one over him, as ExtraFootie revealed on Monday, and with the calamitous nature of the error, perhaps the wee man has gone to elaborate lengths to ensure another media wind-up...
Its not the first time a manager has embarrassingly given away his plans, Sam Allardyce's rather simplistic game plan was spied on by the Match of the Day cameras last season:
Crossing sports, England's bowling plans to Australia's batsmen were leaked when Andrew Flintoff and Co. were on their way to a 5-0 Ashes whitewash down under three years ago, it wouldn't have been so bad had it not been for the fact that the plans blatantly didn't work!
While bungling European Ryder Cup captain Nick Faldo let slip his Foursome partnerships for the showpiece event last year on a piece of paper - only then to claim it was a "sandwich list." Good one Nick!
