The agent of Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo has ruled out the possibility of his client moving to the Premier League during the January transfer window.
Reports had emerged that Liverpool and Manchester City were readying bids for the Brazil international after rumours surfaced that Melo had sent a text to former Fiorentina team-mate Adrian Mutu asking what the atmosphere was like in the English game.
The 26-year-old has struggled for form with the Bianconeri since his big-money summer move from La Viola, and TuttoJuve were speculating as to why Melo would text such a thing if he was not seeking a move away from the Stadio Olimpico.
However, his agent has poured cold water on the story by saying that not only is it not true that his client wants to leave the Old Lady, but that he never sent Mutu any message. "Felipe has never sought out Mutu and never asked to leave Turin in order to go to the Premier League," Emiliano Foldi told Tuttomercatoweb.
