Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o looks set to complete a move to Eastlands as Mark Hughes continues his spending spree this summer. The former African footballer of the year will leave the Nou Camp once the deal to bring David Villa to the Catalan giants is sealed. A fee approaching £40million has been mentioned for Villa, as he looks to make his long awaited departure from
Los Che.Eto'o has spent five years at
Barca, blasting an incredible 108 goals in just 145 games for the Spanish giants. His spell there has also been trophy-laden, in addition to winning the treble of La Liga, Spanish Cup and Champions League last season, he was part of a triumphant Champions League side in 2006 also.
Now the
Cameroon hitman looks set for a £25million move to The Citizens. He will be amongst the top earners in the Premier League should he make the switch and though there is interest from
Inter Milan, the player is thought to favour a move to a British club.
Meanwhile the deal to bring
Carlos Tevez to
Man City is also nearing completion. City want to wrap things up as soon as possible with
Tevez in a bid to convince Eto'o of the genuine ambition at the club, who have failed to qualify for European football next year.
Should they get Eto'o and
Tevez for the fee's rumoured it would take their summer spending, including the £17million capture of Roque Santa Cruz from
Blackburn, to a huge £90million.
