Liverpool are ready to move for Everton striker Louis Saha come January in order to boost their attacking options.

The Reds have struggled for goals this season having been over-reliant on key striker Fernando Torres to do the business upfront.

Now Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez is ready to give the Spaniard some much needed support by landing Everton striker Louis Saha.

Saha is on a 'pay-as-you-play' two-year contract which expires in the summer, meaning that the Frenchman will be able to talk to Liverpool from January onwards about a prospective move across Stanley Park.

The 31 year-old joined Everton in 2008 after an injury-hit four-year spell with champions Manchester United.

Despite only making 19 appearances for the Toffees this season, the former Fulham ace has netted 12 goals in all competitions and opened the scoring in last season’s FA Cup final against Chelsea which David Moyes’ men went on to lose 2-1.

Moyes himself is said to be reluctant to let Saha leave, especially to near-neighbours Liverpool and is ready to secure a new contract for his top goalscorer.
