Dossena to quit Liverpool

Liverpool's Italian stopper Andrea Dossena has said that he is desperate to leave Anfield, and will do as soon as January as long as he can secure a switch.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez shelled out a full £7million for the 28-year-old in July last year, but for the money paid, Dossena hasn't figured in the first team as much as he would have liked.
In fact, this season he has appeared just twice for The Merseysiders, and he might not add to that number now if he gets his wish and returns to his homeland of Italy.
Should, as expected, this happen then Dossena will be regarded, quite rightly, as another one of Rafael Benitez's expensive flops.
The prime concern for the former Udinese man is forcing himself into the Italy squad for next summers World Cup in South Africa, but he also insists that he hasn't shown his true colours during his time at Anfield.
"I know that three big Serie A clubs - Napoli, Juventus and Milan - are looking at me," he said in the News of the World.
"In August they just made other choices. I was very close to going to Juventus in the summer but they signed Fabio Grosso.
"I am now worried I will miss the World Cup."
"In truth I am a little bit unhappy with my performances. They have not seen the 'real' Dossena at Anfield."
