Holland legend Edgar Davids will not be gracing the likes of London Road, Oakwell or Ashton Gate after Leicester City dropped their interest in signing 'The Pitbull'.
The Foxes were keen on luring the former Tottenham and Barcelona midfielder, who is available on a free transfer after quitting Ajax in 2008, to the Walkers Stadium on a contract until the end of the season.
Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric had recently voiced his frustration at the protracted nature of the deal and he has now confirmed they have shelved any transfer after both parties failed to agree terms.
"Unfortunately we were not able to come to an agreement with Edgar and his representatives," Mandaric told the club's official website.
"We have decided not take this matter further and wish Edgar luck in the future."
Premier League basement boys Portsmouth have also been linked with the 36-year-old, but their transfer ban means that it is unlikely Davids will be strutting his stuff on these shores again.
