Ipswich Town midfielder Owen Garvan has revealed that he is fearful for his future under beleaguered boss Roy Keane after the former Sunderland boss has given him the cold shoulder at Portman Road.
After departing from Sunderland last season in the middle of a dreadful run of results, reports emerged of the former Manchester United star's bizzare style of management.
This extended to him not being present at all for weeks on end on the training ground, to being un-contactable and refusing to communicate with players in his office. Some of his former charges have spoken out about his diabolical communication skills and stated that his attitude as a manager leaves a lot to be desired.
Unfortunately for Ipswich fans it seems that his erratic ways have continued at the Suffolk club, with Irish Under-21 ace Owen Garvan the man on the receiving end.
Despite being a regular fixture in the Tractor Boys first team last term, as well as being recently called up to the senior Republic of Ireland squad, the 21-year-old has been snubbed by Keane. He was immediately placed on the transfer list, and now a club insider has revealed that Keane doesn't even speak to the young talent anymore.
This has left the player himself wondering just what the future will hold for him, despite having made over 150 appearances for the club.
“Owen believes his time here is nearly up, " said an insider.
“He is good enough to lead his country but with his club manager not
even speaking to him he accepts he will probably be moving on.”
