Ipswich Town completed the £1.7 million pound signing of Hungarian international forward Tamas Priskin from championship rivals Watford earlier this week, but he failed to inspire them to an opening weekend victory.
Having let several strikers leave in pre-season, Keane has made no secret of his desire to bring in two new attackers and finally agreed a fee with The Hornets for the Hungarian ace prior to today's visit to the Ricoh Arena.
The dangerous forward has been capped 19 times by
Hungary and went straight into the straight into the squad for today's game at
Coventry alongside youngster Jack Colback.
But
Priskin, who featured only as a substitute late on, couldn't prevent a 2-1 loss to Chris Coleman's
Coventry. Clinton Morrison bagged an impressive brace to spearhead the victory for The Sky Blues.
Keane, who has previously stated that he is three players short of the squad he needs to mount a promotion challenge has been linked with another loan move for Giovanni Dos
Santos who spent the end of last season on loan with
Ipswich.
An opening day defeat, which was in truth a little harsh on the Tractor Boys, who looked slick in attack and carved out a number of good chances, is sure to jolt Keane into action in the transfer market.
Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is another player who has been linked with
Ipswich in recent days.
