Ipswich manager Roy Keane has revealed his interest in taking Tottenham forward Giovani Dos Santos back to the club for a second loan spell. The 20-year-old - who joined Spurs last summer for £4.7million from
Barcelona - played eight times for the Tractor Boys at the end of last season and became a firm fans' favourite at Portman Road.
Once heralded as the 'new Ronaldinho' and one of the game's brightest
prospects, Giovani has failed to live up to that billing in the Premier
League after suffering injuries and a loss of form at White Hart Lane.
However, his reputation remains intact on the continent with Spanish clubs
Espanyol and Deportivo La Coruna both reportedly keen to secure the
Mexico international on season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal.
But Town boss Keane is hoping the the diminutive hitman's experience on loan at the Championship outfit last year will help convince his Spurs counterpart Harry Redknapp to let him return.
"I spoke to Harry Redknapp about Gio when he was here last year," he said.
"They know they get looked after and they know they are coming to a real club and a manager that will make sure they train properly and be on time. That hopefully helps in our dealing with any Premier League teams."
